  1. Title: ERADICATION OF MALARIA 
  2. Brief one sentence of the project: The students will analyze causes, effects, prevents and treatment of malaria in the world over.
  3. Full Project Description: Malaria is one of  the oldest and most frequently occurring in humans.  Malaria kills more than 3 million people a year, most of them children and pregnant women in sub-saharan Africa.  Only Tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS take the similar tool.  Half a billion people are infected by malaria annually.  Though most do survive, many of them still suffer years later from the anemia and development disorders caused by severe malaria infection.

  5. Timetable: September 2003 - August 2004 with a possibility of continuity.
  6. Possible Project/Classroom activities:  students will:-
    Research on monthly schedules tasks posted in the forum by the project coordinator.
    Post findings in the www forum and/or via the offline newsreader tool.
    Write a summary of the infectious diseases in the host country.
    Group work.
    Argumentative essays/debates/poems and any other expression tide to the project title.
  7. Expected outcomes: At the end of the day, each country will come up with analysis comparing the findings in one country to the other.  Written summary describing the malaria project i.e. what students did, what they learned, what changes they would make in the future.  This will be downloaded to the project website at www.borwa.botsnet.co.bw   A copy of the summary, along with the project results, will be sent to the school principal, iEARN Headquarters website, PTA, Department of state Education, Presidents of countries involved, stakeholders or school partners, School Net and Board of Governors of schools.
  8. Project Contribution: Research will help Eradicate malaria and prevent it.
